These photos show the moment two vans became submerged in the Mersey after becoming stuck on a Wirral beach.
The drivers of the vehicles were understood to be dropping off jet skis on Monday morning – but they were unable to drive away from soggy sands near to the Tower Grounds in New Brighton.
They had to call coastguards for help after the tide came in – leaving the vans under water.
Liverpool Coastguard said the vehicles were in the process of being towed to dry land, but nobody was injured.
A spokesman said: “We were called at 11.23am. It’s a couple of vans that had become surrounded by tidal water.
“Nobody was in the vans and they are in the process of being recovered now that the tide is going out.”
