Two Wirral students treated for burns after lab accident

Emergency services attended St Mary’s College in Wallasey at 9am this morning after reports two students had suffered burns in a lab accident.

One of the students was then taken to Alder Hey Hospital, Liverpool for further treatment.

The incident is believed to be an accident.

A spokeswoman from North West Ambulance service said:

Two students were treated on the scene.

A 15-year-old has been taken to Alder Hey Children’s hospital with burns.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue service did attend the incident however the fire service was not required and subsequently all teams were stood down.

We have approached St Mary’s College for comment.
