Seven-year-old boy dies after Upton crash

A seven-year-old boy has died following a crash in Upton earlier this evening.

Merseyside Police is appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision in Upton, Wirral today (Sunday, 17 September 2017).

At around 5.05pm, the emergency services were called to reports of a collision involving a silver Vauxhall Astra and a black Honda CR-V on Saughall Massie Road.

Emergency services attended and a seven-year-old boy, a rear passenger in the Honda car, was taken to hospital but he later died as a result of his injuries. Specialist family liaison officers will be supporting the next of kin of the child.

Saughall Massie Road is closed in both directions between its junction with West Derby Road and the Heron Road/Pump Lane roundabout while officers carry out their investigation and drivers are advised to see alternative routes.
