Motorcyclist killed in a collision with taxi

A motorcyclist has died in a collision with a taxi in Wirral.

The incident happened in Bromborough at 5am at the junction of Allport Road and Bridle Road.

Merseyside Police said the motorcyclist was taken to hospital with multiple injuries but was pronounced dead by doctors.

A police spokesman said: “Officers are carrying out extensive enquiries to try and trace his family and while this is on-going, no further details can be released about him at this time.

”The driver of the private hire taxi was shaken but uninjured and is co-operating fully with the police.”

The slip road from New Chester Road into Allport Road was closed as was Allport Road either side of the junction with Bridle Road and a police investigation is taking place.
Collision investigators are expected to be at the scene until late morning and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

The spokesman added: “Anyone who witnessed the incident should call police on 0151 777 5722 or 5717.”
