The Met Office has this morning, issued a severe snow warning for Wirral and surrounding areas. The warning takes effect from tonight till 10:00 AM on Friday 29 April.
Temperatures are expected to dip to 3°C overnight and into Friday morning, this all comes four weeks before the meteorological summer begins.
Although most of the snow will fall further inland and up north, the Met Office believe there is a chance some flurries could reach to lower levels in Merseyside.
The Met Office said this when they issued the warning this morning “An area of rain, sleet and snow will come southeastwards into the area later on Thursday lasting into Friday morning. Accumulations of 5-10 cm are likely above 200-300 m with locally 2-4 cm to around 100 m.”
