Emergency services were called to Woodside Ferry Terminal at 9:15am this morning after reports of two men shouting for help in the River Mersey.
A man, 22, has been recovered from the water by a rescue boat and has been taken to hospital. It is believed he is conscious and breathing.
Mersey Ferry services were suspended at the request of emergency services, they have since resumed but at the moment they are not calling at Woodside.
